Two ways to enjoy Hawaii Polo Club during your stay
As a guest of The Equus, the only Waikīkī hotel with a polo club of its own, you have two benefits at Hawaii Polo Club at Mokulēʻia on the North Shore. Both are arranged at the front desk of The Equus.
Polo Sundays: complimentary General Admission (polo season only)
Polo season runs every Sunday from April through early September. During the season, Equus guests receive complimentary General Admission to Polo Sunday (regularly $23; keiki 12 and under are always free). There are no matches the rest of the year, so outside the season the club day membership below is the way to visit.

How to reserve
Ask the front desk at The Equus and they will reserve your tickets for you. Complimentary tickets are limited each Sunday and go first come, first served.
Upgrade your day
VIP seating: shaded clubhouse seating with table-side service and the best view of the field. Parking is included.

Club Day Membership: Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday, all year
Any time of year, spend a day as a member of Hawaii Polo Club. Pick up a picnic from the Paniolo Café at the hotel and bring it to the members’ lawn at the clubhouse, swim at the beach in front of the field, and see the horses at the stable. The club sits on a remote, rural stretch of the North Shore coast, a world away from Waikīkī.
- Days and hours: Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday, 10 AM to 5 PM. Arrive by 3 PM.
- Price: $25 per room, per day. Complimentary for One Bedroom Suite guests.
- How to book: at the front desk of The Equus before you head out. One day per stay; a second day is a separate booking.
- Included: parking in the trail rides lot, the members’ picnic lawn, the beach, seeing the horses, and restrooms at the stable. Water and soft drinks are for sale at the stable.
- Not included: food, riding, lessons and Sunday match admission. Trail rides can be booked at the stable at the regular price.
- Bring: your picnic, towels, sunscreen and shade. Closed shoes if you want to walk near the horses.
Getting to the club
It’s about an hour from Waikīkī by car, rental or rideshare. If you use rideshare, book your ride back before 4 PM, since pickups at Mokulēʻia can be slow.
Club day membership: search “Hawaii Polo Trail Rides” in Google Maps and follow that pin (open it here). It brings you to the trail rides gate. Park in the trail rides lot, walk to the stable check-in area and give your last name. Every adult signs the club waiver; a parent signs for kids.

Around the horses
Horses startle easily. Walk, keep your voice normal, and keep towels and umbrellas folded until you reach the beach. Please don’t feed the horses or reach through the fences, stay on the road to the beach rather than the horse trail, and leave dogs, drones and bikes at home. If a horse and rider come by, stand still and let them pass.

Polo has been played on this field since 1963, when Duke Kahanamoku threw in the first ball. Prince Charles played here in 1974.
