Hawaii Polo Club opens at 11:30 AM on event days. Arriving early gives you time to set up, explore, and enjoy the beachside atmosphere.

Polo matches typically begin at 2:00 PM with a pony parade, and then a featured match later in the afternoon.

A full polo match usually lasts around 1.25 to 1.5 hours, divided into periods called chukkers.

Yes. Most guests arrive early to tailgate and stay through the final match and live music.

Yes—live music begins after the final match, typically around 5:00 PM.
Parking & Tailgating

- Makai (ocean side): Closer to the field and beach
- Mauka (mountain side): Closer to the vendors and clubhouse bar

Yes—tailgating is a big part of the experience. Bring chairs, food, and drinks and make it your own.

Parking is assigned first-come, first-serve at the gate!

No! We can add your general admission ticket to your party’s booking to ensure entry into the event.

The parking lot is for VIP guests and vendors. We offer overflow parking when all tailgating spots are sold out.
What to Bring & Wear

If you are tailgating, most guests treat it like a beach day.
Recommended items include:
- Chairs or blankets
- Food and drinks
- Sunscreen
- Hats and sunglasses
- Umbrellas or small tents for shade
- Ball or small games to play between chukkers

Dress comfortably for the outdoors. Light, breathable clothing and comfortable footwear are ideal.
Hats and sunglasses are recommended.
Bathing suites are recommended if you are tailgating.
Tickets & Entry

Yes, all guests need a ticket for entry. Purchasing in advance is recommended.

Yes—children 12 and under are free, but still require a ticket.

Purchasing tickets in advance is highly recommended, however tickets are available at the gate if the event is not sold out. Parking availability is not guaranteed.

Yes, but VIP tickets are required for entry regardless of age. This is to guarantee a seat at the table.

Yes, however we charge a corkage fee for alcohol.

No, outside food is not permitted.
Exceptions to the policy:
If anyone has dietary needs, outside food is allowed, but please let your hostess know.
Outside cake or treats for celebrations are also permitted.

Proper dress code is requested- ie no swim suits, board shorts, etc
- Men- no tank tops
- Proper footwear is required- no bare feet

Smoking is prohibited in the Clubhouse. Please smoke in our designated areas.
Food & Drinks

Yes—outside food and beverages are welcome in general admission areas (tailgating, and general seating area)

Rules & Policies

Yes—dogs are welcome but must remain on a leash at all times. Dogs are not permitted in VIP areas.

Weather & Planning Your Vist

Events are typically held rain or shine unless weather conditions are unsafe for the horses to play polo.

If you need to leave in the middle of the event, please plan your exit between chukkers.
Re-entry is allowed, however please be mindful of the people around you.
