This year 2017 marks the 54th anniversary of the first matches played at the Hawaii Polo Club at Mokuleia. It was 1963 when the Mokuleia Polo Club opened and the crowds came out from Honolulu to attend the first season of Sunday Polo Matches by the sea on opening day in 1963. Walter Dillingham presided over the blessing of the field, his son Ben Dillingham umpired the match and Duke Kahanamoku threw in the first ball. Five decades and a lot of polo games have passed since that first Sunday of polo at Mokuleia. And here we are, 54 years later, ready to begin again!
A number of special events and fun social activities are also scheduled this year. The Mother’s Day Brunch is back by popular demand, along with a full moon dinner or two and cocktail parties, and BBQs for visiting teams and members to meet and mingle. Please contact Kristen for more information on this year’s member events!
Social member fees for this season are $300 for singles and $500 for couples. It’s a terrific value if you enjoy polo and coming out to the fields all season.
With the upgrades to the clubhouse area, there has been an increased demand for seating under the tent. A few “reserved season tables” are still available, but the number is limited, so be sure to book online, call, or email to reserve your table before we sell out.
