OCEANFRONT GOODNESS
🐎☀️🌊🏄‍♀️🏖️🎵🎸🎧💃

We are excited and inspired by the June 4th program at Hawaiʻi Polo Club. For the past 60 years, Hawaiʻi Polo has focused on celebrating sport and community oceanfront on Mokulē‘ia, and on June 4th, we have the honor of doing so in exemplary fashion – reveling in summer’s brilliant sunshine, long days and beautiful evenings, showcasing supremely talented and inspirational Hawaiʻi polo players and shining a spotlight on KTUH 90.1FM, a community stalwart for 50+ years.

As soon as you step onto the grounds at Hawaiʻi Polo Club, the beauty of Hawai‘i delivers a powerful, positive wallop with pristine natural surroundings and our island’s diverse, welcoming culture on full display. The cherry on top is the unofficial arrival of summer: doubly-big North Shore beaches — crystal-clear, shoreline waters — consistent tradewinds cooling the coastal zone — forever long days — and seasonal vibes peaking thanks in part to no school days clogging roads and stressing schedules.

No place gives you an opportunity to soak in this joyful energy more than Hawai‘i Polo Club, and our Sunday June 4th beach festival takes everything to “eleven.” Come experience a spectacular afternoon and evening of summer fun.

Fast, Exciting Polo: the thunder of eight horses galloping by, crack of a mallet blasting a ball 100 yards through the air, high-speed and high-risk maneuvers of players – the fastest team sport in the world shines bright every Sunday at Hawai’i Polo Club thanks to pro and amateur players who bring a deep passion for and commitment to the game to bear. It’s not only riveting to watch but also, a joy to experience – equestrian community love at its finest.

Beachside Tailgating: Drive right up to the reserved parking spaces on both the makai and mauka sides of our field and pull out anything and everything you need for a perfect day in paradise. It’s tailgating with polo, the beach and a pristine Pacific Ocean at your fingertips – tailgate paradise!

Swimwear Fashion Show: nothing screams *summer* like a bikini, and following our final match, we will show off a selection of this summer’s finest fashions courtesy of Bohème Swim, suits designed and created right here in Hawai‘i.

Music Fest: we wrap this special Sunday with nearly *four* hours of music featuring the rockin’ rhythms of Tavana at 5:15pm followed by a KTUH Silent Disco beaming three, simultaneous streams of music from 6:45pm-8:45pm.

Tavana & His Trio: praised by rockers and guitar gods across the islands, as well as none other than *Eddie Vedder*, Tavana pours his heart and soul into every performance leaving no doubt about what’s in store this Sunday – a powerful, soul-drenched concert experience. Tavana comes to Hawai’i Polo with great momentum having sold out two Blue Note Hawaiʻi concerts earlier this year. This Sunday, he’s bringing his star-studded trio (Tavana (multiple, stringed instruments, vocals), Sam Ites (drums, vocals), Wil Tafolo (bass, vocals)), making clear that he is as excited about his June 4th return to Mokulē‘ia as we are.

KTUH Silent Disco powered by Hawaiʻi Dance Bomb: two community powerhouses join forces to transport you to a fifth dimension – dancing like no one is watching under the moon and stars at the beach in Mokulē‘ia. When you don Hawaiʻi Dance Bomb’s premium headphones, all surrounding chatter and distractions instantly disappear. It’s just you, the groove and North Shore’s starry skies. Three simultaneous streams of music let you pick your favorite beats and create a magical, musical getaway. ($10 headphone rental required)

Spirited Beverages: full-service menu at The Chukker Club Polo Bar.

Ono Eats: we’re celebrating summer with something to please everyone from the biggest paniolo to smallest keiki: all-time favorite Uncle’s Ice Cream Sandwiches (made right here in Mokulē‘ia and sold across North America), SaSa’s Gourmet Summer Rolls (every type of roll imaginable and dynamite sauces – fresh, light and oh so ono), Makua Banana Bread Co. (Haleiwa’s own 5-star baker – banana bread (your choice of original, mochi or chocolate) and chocolate chip cookies) and TeppanLegend (local classics delivered with gourmet flare and flavor from one of Hawaii’s *best* mobile chefs – chopped steak, garlic shrimp, Korean fried chicken, salmon katsu and more).

Community Forces Uplifting All

The trials and tribulations of the last few years have made the need for and power of human connection more evident ever before. This week, we are thrilled to celebrate three organizations that drive community and deliver empowering, self-worth.

Hawaiʻi Trail Rides and Polo School at Hawaiʻi Polo Club: the physical and mental benefits of equine activities are off the charts. Hawaiʻi Polo Club offers everything from horseback trail rides along the beach to polo lessons. Click here for details.

KTUH Community Radio: whether riding in your car or working at home, you’re never alone thanks to KTUH 90.1FM. “The only station that loves you” broadcasts live radio 24 hours a day, 7 days a week online and through its FM antennae, connecting you with other humans and music that makes you feel glad to be alive. Hawai‘i Polo Club is donating funds to KTUH and encourages others to do so online or onsite on June 4th. Listen and donate to KTUH here.

Hawaiʻi Dance Bomb: with classes for keiki, teenagers and adults, Hawaiʻi Dance Bomb makes it easy to express yourself and add pure, exuberant fun to your schedule. Each class is a surefire, pick-me-up. And that’s just scratching the surface. Hawaiʻi Dance Bomb offers a host of ways to connect with the positive power of dance:

  • In-person Classes Every Monday through Saturday (Hip Hop, KPOP, Breakdancing, Jazz, African) – Kaimuki, Kahala and Aina Haina
  • Kids Weekly Summer Camp
  • Saturday Night Kids Dance Party 5-8pm in Aina Haina (last Saturday of the month)
